About the Role

This Backend Engineer joins Ondo's market-making team to build real-time systems that quote and hedge tokenized markets around the clock across onchain and traditional venues. The senior team works primarily in Rust and Go and owns live production risk.

Responsibilities

• Design low-latency services and APIs for quoting, hedging, and execution across traditional and onchain venues.
• Define interfaces among pricing, execution, and market-data services with the trading team.
• Integrate market-data providers, exchanges, and onchain venues, including feed handling and order execution.
• Build reconciliation and data-integrity tools for positions, fills, and profit-and-loss accounting.
• Establish backend engineering and security standards and contribute to architecture and code reviews.

Requirements

• 4+ years of backend software engineering experience and strong Go or Rust skills, with willingness to use both.
• Knowledge of distributed systems, system design, and real-time or latency-sensitive services.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, third-party integrations, and high-throughput production systems.
• Demonstrated interest in Web3, DeFi, or trading systems and comfort with a high-ownership startup environment.

Nice to Have

• Experience with market-data protocols, trading or execution infrastructure, crypto venues, and onchain trading.
